Treatment below the gumline
Scaling and root planing cleans affected root surfaces beneath the gums. It may be part of a nonsurgical treatment plan. Some patients need further treatment or specialist care when nonsurgical measures do not achieve the desired gum health.

Plan for maintenance
Treatment is followed by reassessment and a maintenance plan. Many patients need ongoing periodontal maintenance to support their gum health. Ask how often you should return and how to clean the areas being treated. If specialist input is needed, our team will explain the referral and help coordinate your next step.
